Got a fresh 6-8 inches of snow at the country estate today, and I got through a whole plowing run without getting stuck (a real accomplishment). Just take it easy and watch where you're going, especially when backing up.
Snow depth in the fields and forest is up around two feet now. Makes tramping through the woods a real work out
A timberframe raising this week, some skiing and snowshoeing over the weekend and back into attics and basements on Monday...

Over on my Sugar Mountain Farm blog on the Potential Energy post you asked about multi-wheel drive for vehicles like ours.
I wish our Ford Econoline E-250 extended body cargo van had four wheel drive or all wheel drive and differential locking. I have looked around but not found any.
Ours is rear wheel drive, the first rear wheel drive vehicle I've had. It is not nearly as good on ice or snow as front wheel vehicles. Putting a lot of weight in the back helps greatly. It is very important that the weight be balanced on or in front of the rear axle or the front end can literally lift off the ground at high speeds - up, up and away!
Unfortunately I have always bought vehicles used so that makes it doubly hard to find one.
If anyone knows of a 4WD or AWD version of this type of extended body cargo van please let me know.
Cheers
